BY ASSOCIATION DOES IT BETTER

It happened the last time we had major storms pound the region. And it happened again during Tropical Storm Fay, raising the question: Who does U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown think she is? A Clay County commissioner?

In case you were busy fighting with Fay, here's what happened Friday: Brown had one of her assistants call the city's Public Works Office to request sandbags to protect her home from floodwaters. Adam Hollingsworth, former Brown employee and current mayoral chief of staff, approved the request.

Ever since people heard about the city trucks rolling up to the homes of Brown and City Councilwoman Denise Lee, this has been the talk around the water cooler, watering hole and all other water-related places. Which is pretty much everywhere.

Some have dubbed Hollingsworth "Mr. Sandman." Others have said this puts a new twist on an old Brown campaign slogan: Corrine delivers!

It must be something in our (storm) water.
